The Aurum Magma is the fastest bike on any type of terrain. It was born from the experience of Contador and Basso that they had throughout their careers, and they have been working on this project since they said goodbye to professional cycling a few years ago.

Aurum Magma is agile, super light and super fast. Both Contador and Basso agreed that the bike had to be balanced enough in its handling: comfortable enough for long rides, but super stiff for climbing out of the saddle. The bike had to be responsive at the front, in the corners, and stable enough to inspire confidence even on the longest descents of the Pyrenees.

To build a bike that met all these exacting criteria, Aurum Magma geometry was the key, the soul of this beautiful bike frame.

It was important to be able to accommodate any rider on the Aurum Magma geometry, regardless of their height or experience. To achieve this goal, the bicycle forehead figure (head tube and fork offset combination) was the starting point. After many tests, Aurum defined an ideal head size, not only the best balance for fast driving, but also stability at high speeds.

The frame's stack and reach will put the rider in a racing position for maximum performance, but allow for long rides. The short chainstays contribute to the climber's setup, a low bottom bracket helps lower the center of gravity, and the long wheelbase helps ensure stability during descents.

MAXIMUM STIFFNESS: POWER PLUS PERFORMANCE

Contador and Basso know that in order to perform at their best, the power output from their legs needs to be delivered to the pedals and wheels with maximum efficiency so that they have achieved a rigid frame in crucial parts.

The Aurum Magma is designed with high lateral stiffness in the bottom bracket area, so when the rider gets out of the saddle producing their maximum performance, the bike remains rigid as a rock. It's also been made with high torsional rigidity, specifically in the head tube and downtube sections, crucial for the frame to deliver perfect handling in corners.

The BB386Evo bottom bracket maximizes torsional rigidity thanks to the Aurum Magma airfoil downtube that tapers from the head tube.

EXCELLENT COMFORT: GREAT CYCLIST PERFORMANCE

Some parts of the Aurum Magma frameset are designed to provide the rider with maximum rigidity, but other parts of the frame have been optimized for comfort, so the frameset performs great on long rides.

AERODYNAMICS: FAST BIKE FOR CLIMBING

A super important part of the Aurum Magma project is Aerodynamics, a super light climbing bike was created but the wind tunnel proved to be super aero at different turning angles.

WEIGHT: SUPER LIGHT WITHOUT COMMITMENT

Having a light bike was a key factor in the Aurum Magma project, but it was not the main focus of development. The goal was to achieve an overall balanced bike, achieving riding characteristics. There is often a misconception that a lighter bike is better, but field testing proved to be different. Aurum Magma finds the perfect balance between the 2 worlds.
